Acoustic Correction

THE ROOM'S REVERBERATION TIME AND ACOUSTIC CORRECTION

An environment, even if perfectly isolated in acoustics, and therefore difficult to permeate sound, can maintain reverberant behaviour. The Anti-reverberation treatment or, better, acoustic correction, is a necessary step after soundproofing.

GENERIC ACOUSTIC TREATMENT

It involves the application of sound-absorbing panels in very specific points; open cell sound-absorbing materials capable of trapping sound and dissipating it in the heat form are used. Their shape, density, and thickness determine their ability to "capture" sound in various frequency bands.

ACOUSTIC CORRECTION

It involves a measurement of reverberation times in frequency for a targeted installation of sound-absorbing/reflective materials or acoustic correctors, agreed on the basis of the absorption coefficient of materials and furnishings present in the environment.

ANTI-REVERBERATION TREATMENT

It’s a fundamental step to consider after soundproofing. In this phase Puma Acoustics calculates and defines the material quality and quantity necessary to reduce the reverberation times to the target value.

ACOUSTIC REFLECTORS

They are used to correct acoustics, but they are more specific products and used for targeted projects. They are often used to give breadth to the sound in environments with unsuitable geometric shapes.

bass traps

Generic bass traps, also made of polyurethane foam, thanks to their thickness and shape typically suitable for being positioned at the intersection of walls, react starting from lower frequencies, usually from 300 Hz. Specific bass traps or tuned capturers are instead tailor-made products to correct only and exclusively certain frequencies.
